God’s Promised Grace

Last night God gave me the opportunity to preach the Wednesday evening prayer service here at Truth Baptist Church in South Windsor, CT.  After meditating on the passage in my personal devotions last week, I chose to preach on 2 Peter 1:1-4.

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to* his own glory and excellence,* by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”

What a blessing and encouragement it is for me to know that God promises to provide a superabundance of grace and provision to enable me to succeed in my Christian life!  Knowing that God will provide for me everything that I need to do his will is one of the greatest blessings that I can have in my life.  Along with family and friends, God’s promised grace is what I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving time!
