I sent in the application last week. The goal is to get tax exemption before we begin making big purchases.

Last week I did some work preparing the application. The State of Florida requires several documents that I had to prepare.

  1. Articles of Incorporation – already had them.
  2. Proof of Physical location – I had to write up a use agreement in which I agreed under contract to let the church use our house as its physical location. If we run into trouble with this, we will have to wait until we actually begin renting a facility before we can apply for exemption.
  3. Schedule of Services or meeting times – I had to design a brochure that listed our meeting times. I decided to head the design in a direction that we will be able to morph into a door hanger.

We added a few additional elements one of which was singing a few hymns. It was a blessing to sing together as a group. Jen played the piano and we all gathered around her to read the words from the one hymnal which had the song (add getting a few hymnals to the “to do” list…). After singing a few songs, we had an encouraging Bible study from Colossians 1. I will write a little bit more about it after this weekend. I will be using the same basic content for my Sunday morning message @ Agnew Road Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. This time we actually remembered to take a picture! This will be our official 1st (2nd..) service pic!

Please pray for us as we travel to Greenville Friday morning. As I’ve already mentioned, I will be preaching on Sunday morning. In the evening service, I will be presenting our ministry, answering questions, and giving a short challenge. We will give a full report when we return!
