Remain focused on your tasks one day at a time. Try not to think about what you have to do next week; rather think about what you have to do today. Break-up long term tasks into daily/weekly tasks as appropriate. Set mini-goals for yourself… (not humonga tasks) & celebrate your accomplishment in achieving them. Idea here is to break big tasks down into small manageable ones then focus on small manageable tasks one at a time and one day at a time. Additionally, remain committed to finishing the goal. You will have set backs, everybody does. You will get discouraged, everybody does. But failure is only defined as giving up, not having set backs, difficulties, or discouragement, so remain committed. Lastly, you are beloved of God, “wonderfully & marvelously made”, precious in the sight of God. God will enable, strengthen, & help you because He loves you. Call upon God & walk with Him. He will give you all that you need.

Tomorrow morning at 5:15am we will be heading the airport to fly to CT for vacation/update/ordination!  We are excited about being able to get away for a short vacation and to visit family and friends.

I am so thankful that God has provided capable men in the church to direct the work while we are gone.  I have three different men filling in for 2 Wednesday evenings (8/25, 9/1) as well as Sunday School and Morning Worship on Sunday, August 29th.  We will miss everyone here in Jax, but are confident that they will be able to get along just fine without us.

This Saturday evening at 6:30 I will present my doctrinal statement to the men of Truth Baptist Church in CT.  I will be preaching in the morning service and giving an update on the ministry in Jacksonville in the evening service.  Lord willing, if I can pass the examination:), I will be ordained in the evening service.

We would appreciate your prayers as we travel with two young children!

We are pleased to announce the arrival of our son: Titus Matthew Rowley!  God answered our prayers and gave us a healthy son and mommy!  We arrived at the hospital around 9:00pm Monday evening and he was born at 3:13am July 6th.  He weighted 6 lbs. 12 oz. and measured 20 inches long!  He shares his birthday with his mom!  Jen says he is the best birthday present ever!  Thank you Lord and thank you for your prayers!

Jen and I are at the hospital having a baby!  Please pray for a safe and healthy delivery for mom and baby.  We arrived a the hospital around 9:00 pm Monday evening.  Things are progressing well.  Lord willing, Jen and baby Titus will share a birthday!  Jen says this is the best birthday present ever!  We are excited about the prospect of another family member and will keep you posted along the way.

Sadly my wife and Brianne will not be traveling with me.  They left this morning to Bradenton, FL where they will be attending her older brother Jeremy’s wedding.  Amazingly his wedding is one day after Justin’s on Saturday.  I wish I could attend both, but the Lord had other plans.  I miss my family already, but are glad they can spend time with Jen’s family:)

She made me lunch, and prepared a very special 3 course dinner which we enjoyed in the privacy of our own lanai (screened in porch).

On Wednesday evening Lisa “mysteriously” a “Happy 30th Birthday!” sign on our front door!  She also delivered to me a homemade card by one of the ladies in the church signed by many of the people in our church.  The card and thoughts were very special!  Laura brought a cake for us all to celebrate with after the prayer meeting.

I’m excited to think about the prospects of getting some male help around the house (probably several years down the road)!

January 1, 2009 was our first day of permanent residence in Jacksonville, FL.  I can distinctly remember the overwhelming feelings of all that we had ahead of us.  Looking back, God was so faithful and good to us in 2009!  By his grace we have come a long way!  I will not recount everything we did this past year, but just a few include:

  1. Purchasing and remodeling a home
  2. Preparing for and starting Truth Baptist Church
  3. Pastoring and leading TBC for 5 months!

Today, January 1, 2010, I look forward and feel a bit overwhelmed with what we have yet to accomplish in God’s plan.  I am greatly encouraged to know that the same God who strengthened us by His might in our inner man (Ephesians 3:14-19) in 2009 will do the same for us and you in 2010!

May God gives us grace to glorify Him in whatever way He sees fit in 2010!
